The group will meet Monday evening to view historic banners and flags. Leif Erikson, John Cabot, Columbus, and colonial and state flags will be shown. A membership drive will occur and a patriotic musical program is planned. Public admission is free.
Mrs C R Steffen and Mrs Scott Miller attended the Jefferson Co Red Cross meeting in the District Court room in Fairbury Monday evening. Plans were made and materials distributed for the active local relief effort.
In Diller voters chose nine attendees for a caucus to select candidates for a three year school term with two of four seats. For the village board two year terms four candidates were named Perry Weaver Roy Mathias incumbent Alpha Wiemers and Clifford Blauser with Alfred Sasse and Lloyd Ruzy le declining to run. For a one year vacancy Henrichs who moved to Beatrice had E H Jordening and Joe McNeely as nominees.
Women invited to World Day of Prayer Sarsheen events with offering supporting United Council projects. Also notice urging readers to select a new Spring outfit at Mosiman's in Fairbury.
Homer Brunk shows improvement and reports he expects to be up and about in a week or so. He predicts a gradual return to normal activities within about fifty days.
A special meeting was held Tuesday evening to formally dedicate a Bible in memory of J Smith DIl. The Bible was donated to the lodge by his sons Neal V Carroll and Stan ley V and his son in law Max G Logan in memory of My Diller.
