County road work program to continue with monthly bills

The county announces no change to the road work program for the coming year. Farmers will drag the roads as usual, but dragging must occur at the proper time and bills for this dragging must be turned in promptly every month by order of the County Commissioners.

Henry Wiemers cannot fill Kansas City order for 3000 head purebred Chester White hogs due to short supply. The Wiemer brothers, famed far from home, form a Chester White hog association and sell sows with a guarantee to buy back all offspring from those sows for at least two litters.

Community Club Selects 1924 Committees At City Hall

A Monday night meeting in the city hall set the winter entertainment plans and announced 1924 committees. Treasurer reports $60. R W Green to check film purchase costs. Passing of former Diller pastor Dr William Boyle

Dr William Boyle 74 longtime Presbyterian minister and former pastor of the Cree Presbyterian church died at 205 South Main Street in Albia Iowa after a three week illness. Funeral services were held at First Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr H Sears Thomson with Dr W E Parsons assisting. Interment was in Albia cemetery. Boyle was born March 1 1850 near Taylorsville Kentucky and had a long career as educator minister and home missionary. He is survived by his widow and two sons William C Boyle and Graham L Boyle and other relatives.
