Lent began on Wednesday and Lincoln's birthday was noted. A variety of local happenings include a house and for sale by H. E. Green, a new baby born to Mr. and Mrs. Tiffis Blauser, a humorous lecture in Loock's hall, revival services with Rev. Morrison, and Col. Waggoner visiting Diller. Also reported are moving plans, visitors, a gallery open on Wednesdays, and daily life notes such as hog sale, robin sightings, music pupils gathering, and local travel and staffing updates.
Magnolia Indiana resident John Pleasant recalls a six year lesson and promotes Dr King s New Life Pills saying they please everybody. Advertised as guaranteed by Spear Drug Co with a price of 25e.
Mr and Mrs Thos Nelson and their son returned from Springfield Nebraska where Mr Nelson purchased a hardware stock and plans to establish Turniture and will evigege in business moving there around the start of March. Mr Nelson will return Monday to take possession of the stock. Friends wish them success.

E L Loock and daughter Gertrude traveled to Peoria Illinois on Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs Hannah Loock’s sister The long ill health of the deceased spanned about five years prior to her death and a reader recalls Loocky as a former visitor to the town.
Jas Packer Sr and W J Frisbie announce a public sale at the farmer's residence one mile north and two miles east of Diller on Tuesday February 26 at 10 o'clock. A free lunch will be served at noon. Items include 8 horses 4 mules 8 head of cattle 20 sheep a lot of machinery bay household goods and other articles. See bills for terms.

Last Thursday friends and neighbors gathered at Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Brandt’s home to bid them farewell before moving to Oberlin Kansas. Guests brought farm produce, shared a bounteous dinner, and spent an afternoon in games and chat, wishing health and happiness in the new home. Attendees included Geo. Riddle, A. J. Hill, Marstellar, N. Thompson, John Hayworth, Otis Babb, Isaac Saylor, J. D. Stiener, Jesse Brandt, Will Hauver, Jacob Semen, Peter Nelson, Jno. LePoidevin, J. Hiatt, and Ada Paine.

Liveryman Al Hutchinson reported a mare was fatally injured when kicked by another horse in the barnyard. The animal sustained a broken leg and was killed to end its suffering.
