The Diller High School basketball schedule covers February 5 to 7 with the Pioneer Conference tournament at Steele City and games against Blue Springs Odeil and Hollenberg. Local assembly featured selections by students guided by speech instructor Mr. Fairbury High School judge and five students named to the County Contest roster for Reynolds on February 10.
Mr and Mrs Lee Calkies and Mr Jobo Steiner joined Mr and Mrs C Geer for a Sunday evening duck dinner on February 2 in honor of Mrs Calkie's birthday. Special favors included a white eagle cake with pink icing. balls of candy and a birthday song. Cards and good wishes followed as guests departed after a delightful gathering.
Wm. Bowers, who has spent about sixty days with his mother Mrs. Ruth Pickard and other relatives at Diller, left Paxton Nebraska last Sunday for California. He re enlisted at Omaha for three years more in the Navy. He will stop en route to visit for a few days in Dallas Texas.
Twelve grandchildren and four brothers attended services at the Methodist church in Valentine on Tuesday January 28. Mr Cherry was a longtime resident of the Diller vicinity.
