To-morrow Saturday a ground Hoy day sale announces a six hole range in good condition. Mrs Dr Claude Ellis suffers attacks of sciatic rheumatism. Miss Frances Jamison spends time with her sister Mrs Archie Carpenter.
Half price coats from E F Habicht and new wallpaper samples from Elias Hadley invite shoppers. 21 W T Logan returned from Omaha after an operation and is recovering. Supt J A Erickson and sister Miss Emily Erickson along with Miss Genevieve Lames of the Diller school faculty spent the weekend in Lincoln.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hays drove to Beatrice to take Mrs. Hays mother to the train. Mr. Tucker traveled with them and visited Mrs. Tucker and Mildred who remains at Falls sanitarium after Christmas.
A cow under care of Dr Callander calmed after daily visits, ending loud bawling and showing reconciliation. A separate note reports stock yard activity with three carloads received and shipped to St Joe market via the shipping association led by F E Hale, including hogs and cattle handled by Harry Weddle and Forest Hartzel.
At the annual stockholders meeting the old board including F W Steffen F W chs Herman Sasse Arthur Wieths and Wm Barton were reelected for another year. The managers report shows 76104 bu wheat 61564 bu corn 9298 bu oats and 1882170 lb coal paid in 128842.88 plus 285 cattle for 76275.82 3 cars of bankage cost 4294.69. The report notes 1388 members and a deficit of 3548.56 distributed toward capital footing and reserve funds with 262.00 2472.45 placed to reserve fund.
Mr and Mrs Dan Griswold are listed as ill in the local sickness report with no further details provided.
W C Lineit J E Pickard and Everett Clark spent Sunday with LaVern Pickard and wife in Fairbury. Mr and Mrs Roy Mathias of near Ellis and Mr and Mrs John Fasnacht of Blue Springs spent Sunday with Mrs John Mathias.
At Thursday's cemetery meeting Scede Wiemers and J. W. Fouts were elected to the board of directors while A. L. Tristman was re-elected clerk.

The Womans Club observes its fifth anniversary on February 5 as members gather for a roll call and a review of Nebraska authors. Dorothy Fisher and Mrs. Vieth discuss works by Willa Cather and other noted writers while members pledge to attend.
Mrs Carrie Green visited the 2nd Primary room on January 23. Ruth Carmichael joined the 4th ora class in General Work. The 2nd Primary learned to make five pointed stars. The 4th grade Geography began study of earth zones and circles. 5th Grade Geography explores the compass. Visitors included Mrs George Henrichs Carroll Miss Grace Lottman and Mrs Northup in the Grades during the week.
Miss Pearl Hemminger 22 and Simon Finch 26 were married Wednesday evening January 23 at the Hemminger home near Diller. Rev. Charles B Hawkins officiated with Hazel Hemminger as bridesmaid and Ward Finch as best man. The couple plans a farm home near Odell after a trip to Chicago. Out of town guests came from Lincoln and Hebron.
Wiemers Bro s sold 63 bred sows and 3 or 4 small boars at the Chester White hog sale in Diller Tuesday. Sows averaged 41 dollars per head with all but 4 shipped away. There were 39 out of town buyers including Kenneth Fouts Cuming County agent who joined breeders from his county to buy three of the finest sows sold.
