Diller residents attend family gatherings and skating outings while county officials plan a January meeting. Community notices promote tax payments, a subscription contest with votes counting toward a grand piano prize, and local school staff achievements.
Christmas visits and travel fill the notes with small town life. People from Pittsburg to Diller share holiday greetings while others plan sales and moves. A bandman is reappointed justice, students prepare for Beatrice and North Western, and locals comment on alfalfa meal for chickens.
Arrangements are being perfected for the Diller Farmers Institute with a date change to secure speakers. It is hoped the full program including premium bids for farm products, colt show, school and domestic science exhibits can be printed in the Recomp next week.
Card of Thanks expresses gratitude for sympathy. The text discusses public health caution when disease names cause confusion and cites Rule No 90 from The Nebraska State Board of Health noting membranous croup and diphtheria as potentially fatal alike.
