W S Diller, a dental student in Kansas City, arrived Friday and is spending the Christmas vacation with his parents Mr and Mrs H Z Diller at their home.
Miss Ruth Bugbee, a teacher in Talmage, is spending the Christmas vacation with her parents Mr and Mrs D A Bugbee at their home located 44 miles south and 2 west of Dillér in this state.

The Diller schools observe the usual holiday break with most teachers at home. Classes will resume Wednesday morning of next week.

Miss Margaret Cherry a Beatrice Business College graduate and former stenographer at Beatrice Telephone Co has quit her job to enroll in a nurses training course at Falls sanitarium.
Mr and Mrs C A Reinhardt welcomed all their family for Christmas dinner with their three sons present Attorney J J Reinhardt of Aurora Nebraska Lieut E A Reinhardt of Camp Dodge Iowa and Dale Reinhardt who has been commissioned to finish his dental course at the Nebraska State University arriving Saturday evening
On Saturday December 22 a group of Eastern Star ladies, longtime members of Mrs. Mary Ewers, surprised her at her daughter Mrs. Isabella Raymonds home with a bouquet of carnations. Mrs. Ewers expressed gratitude for the thoughtful remembrance.
The paper notes that Collector Geo L Loomis announces a federal income tax officer will visit the county February 18 to 28. The office will be in the Court House and assist taxpayers at no cost for returns. Loomis estimates 500 taxpayers in the county.
Mr and Mrs Roy Hagerman and Creda Wright from Powell Wyoming are visiting relatives near Odell. Mrs Elias Hadley and Archie went Saturday to visit her parents Mr and Mrs Harvey in Sidney Nebraska.
Mr and Mrs Will Griffin of Beatrice arrive Mondays to spend the holidays with her brothers Harlan and Elias Hadely and other Diller relatives.

Rev J Wallace Larkin called to Clark Nebraska on Tuesday by death of Hon W R Moree father of Mrs Larkin and pioneer of Merrick county He will return in time for next Sunday's Presbyterian church service.
A box supper and social was held last Friday night at the Oaks school house District 74. Receipts totaled 53.40 with 21.00 turned over to the Chilmer branch of the Red Cross, 1.00 per each enrolled pupil.
