Hastings Nebraska December report reveals Paul Holder a 19 year old son of Jacob and Mrs Holder who served with the 22nd area squadron and was believed captured behind German lines. A letter from a French port confirms his endurance under harsh conditions and his intention to return home soon. His mother’s health suffered from months of worry before the hopeful news.
A letter dated December 13 1918 from Captain W G Butter Sanitary Corps U S Army Adjutant at Camp Dodge Iowa thanks Mr F T Pearce chair Diller Branch A R C for fourteen feather pillows donated for hospital use. The note notes the comfort to patients and expresses appreciation for the thoughtfulness.
St Paul's Lutheran announces the cancellation of all Christmas activities as the Board of Health order prohibiting public meetings remains in effect. The church will resume events only when the order is lifted.
