An Endicott resident Mr Noble died after a circular saw at the Blackley flouring mills in Steele City cut him in two at the waist. The mill belt had been thrown, the accident occurred during operation, and the victim, a son-in-law of Mr Saunders, left a wife and six children. The owner was reportedly cautioned about the danger before the incident. Dr King’s New Life Pills ad appears amid the tragic report.
Pleasant Lodge No. 96 elected a full set of new officers last Saturday afternoon for the upcoming term. Names include POC of TE Mrs C A Reinhart and Recorder Mrs Ada Cully. The Midland Concert Company’s appearance in Loock's hall drew a full house under the Diller Lyceum Bureau, praised overall though vocalists faced criticism for unclear delivery.

Miss Annie Smith daughter of Wm Smith of near Diller Kansas married D R Potter at the M E parsonage in Harper on December 1 with Rev Crouch officiating. Potter a Harper resident of twenty years and cattle breeder, and Miss Smith, from Sedgewick County, are praised by friends and urged to begin their life together.
The county commissioners set their next meeting for January 4. A Christmas present item notes Sutton’s offers dolls for children. Henry Wright has returned from a Western states trip and will stay with his parents J B Wright for several weeks. A Prairie Colle school house entertainment is announced for Wednesday evening December 28 with Ada Yother teaching and a ladies box supper for two.
Gertrude Look reports Ralph Cully won the high school ape ling contest with Joy Reinhart as a finalist for the eighth grade. Harry Remtey took the intermediate spelling prize. The school board authorized a fourth room named the Grammer room. Lola Brooks and Fred Witty visited campuses. Christmas holidays begin December 18 and lessons pause through January 4 with a two week break then a steady grind to term end.
