Patton Died After Three-Week Illness In This City
Robert H. Patton of Cass county died Monday evening December 7 1914 after a three week stomach illness that worsened heart trouble. Born May 5 1851 in Pennsylvania he was 63 years 6 months and 8 days old. He married Maggie Henrichs in Peoria Illinois in 1877 and lived on a farm near Diller before moving to town. He leaves nine children Harry Milford Walter Cassie Maryn Roy Adolph Orville. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Christian church with Ancient Order of United Workmen attendance and Rev W N Gillis officiating. interment at Prairie Home cemetery beside his wife.

Fire destroys Garrison farm barn and stock near Diller
A large barn on the Garrison farm ten miles northeast of Diller burned on Wednesday night. Robt. Wylie, who lives on the farm, lost eight horses four cows and a quantity of hay and grain. The cause of the fire is not known.
