Death of Capt Joseph Brooks Noted by Relatives in Beatrice
Delbert and Herbert Stotte learned of their uncle Capt Joseph Brooks death at his daughter Mrs John R Quein home in Beatrice last Friday. He was 72, born in Ohio, served 4 years 6 months in the 13th Ohio Infantry U.S. Army. He moved to Nebraska in 1878, lived near Odell until 1890, later on a Blaine county homestead, fell ill two weeks earlier and died in Beatrice. He was a G A R member and adjutant of the soldiers home at Milford five years ago.
