Man Escaped From Frankfort Robbery Is Sent Up
Howard Vernon of Fairbury Nebraska, one of two men who escaped the Frankfort marshal during the Lanham Nebraska bank robbery, has been partly identified as the robber who sat in the car while the other bandit looted the bank. Vernon is sentenced to ten years in the penitentiary on a charge of stealing the getaway car, to run concurrently with his parole. The other man remains at large with clues pointing to a possible third participant. A car was found abandoned south of Lanham and another left in Ford County. The Frankfort marshal said the short man in overalls claimed to be Vernon. The other man is also reported as Vernon. About $800 stolen from the bank remains unrecovered.
