Use Good Sires To Boost Poultry Flock Profits
Dr W C Thompson of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station Rutgers urges poultrymen to rely on proven sires. A sire must show three generations of productive heritage, match the desired breeder type, and prove offspring performance through fertility viability and first-year egg yields. Retain promising males for continued production instead of slaught ering them, and keep them separate from hen flocks to avoid fights and maximize future egg output.
