Colman’s new house work began and framing to start today. Prof. Charles L. Grimes and family arrived from Shawnee Ohio to lead Diller High School this fall starting Sept 7.
A Diller Lyceum Club meeting will be held at Spear's Drug Store on Friday evening August 28 to elect officers for the ensuing year. All interested are invited to attend. By order of Secy. First National Bank increases capital from 40000 to 50000 and unveils a new gold leaf sign crafted by a former Diller resident, Byri Ballard now in Crete.
Great preparations are under way for a Grand Log Rolling Picnic at Fairbury city park on Monday September 7 under Modern Woodmen of America auspices. Head consul A B Talbot and C E Whelan will be present to deliver addresses. A ball game and various games for all ages will be held with prizes for winners and a basket dinner served after the event.
Henry Kanter spent a day in Diller visiting friends August Kanter and others at Shea. He had just returned from New York City where he spent about three weeks buying goods for the Central City store.
