Two New Steel Bridges Planned Near Diller

Explosion Tops Missouri Valley Pipe Line Near Hollenberg
A 30 ft section of the Missouri Valley Co pipe line near Hollenberg was blown into the air by a gas explosion after heavy rain washed dirt from the pipe. Burning gas erupted 200 300 feet high as gates were closed. A large crowd from Diller watched the spectacle.

First Farm Sale a Good One
The first farm sale of the season in this locality was held Tuesday by J. R. Harms on the P. H. Shea farm five miles northwest of Diller with Col. Hoyle as auctioneer and Luther Nelson as clerk. Prices were strong with a five year old gelding at 115 dollars and two others at 105 each. A thirteen year old mare sold for 63 dollars. Milch cows topped at 96 dollars with four averaging 65. Bred sows averaged 41 and spring pigs 13 each. Farm machinery sold well. Mr. Harms and family will move to Amarillo Texas soon to make their future home.
