Christ Hickey 21, Bonowitz 4, Baum 3. County judge Boyle 44. coroner Dodge 26, Perry 18. superintendent Harrin 44. Democratic ticket: Cullier 5, Kelley 3 for county judge. Blauser not on ticket. Independent and socialist tickets not present. Fifty-two tickets sold for Fairbury chautauqua. Mrs. Diller heads to Fairbury for the week. The Diller Record and Daily State Journal ads offer a 1910 subscription deal. John Senior and kin return from Sherman county Kan with land.
Mrs S McKittrick and her daughter Clara visited with Diller and attended the big picnic a week or two ago and returned last Friday to their home at Alva Oklahoma.
George Specht accompanied J I Lamb to the short grass country near Alliance Nebraska on Tuesday to view purchasing a quarter or two of land as an investment in the region.
Teachers from Diller include Misses Gert rude Effe Diller Della Fanders Merle Hughes Malissa Lambert and Mr. Joy Reinhardt attending an institute held this week in Fairbury.
Mr and Mrs Emil Tarnow and J D Fanders joined WU B Hill to inspect land at Reckleman Neb Monday. Tarnows plan to visit relatives at Augora Neb before returning. W W Waeteon Jefferson county surveyor died in Fairbury after weeks with throat catarrh aged sixty five.
Dawcon notes the Old Settler's Picnic in Endicott on August 28 and 29. Saturday features Old Settler's Day with Sunday devoted to religious services. Prominent speakers and attractions are being arranged.
J H Carmichael and son Chester returned from Cheyene county Kansas where Joe owns three quarter sections and considers moving before spring. They report good small grain crops this year but corn needs rain like in their home area.
Mrs. Leon Green of Spokane renewed this week for the Record. Mrs. S. J. Senior visited Beatrice relatives. A. Reinhart's rural route duties are covered by Volney Raymond during vacation. Fred Starr sold this year’s apple crop for 1050 dollars to a St. Joe commission house. Kerrs went to Gilead for Clarence Kerr’s illness. Miss Connevive ODonnell and Mayme O'Donnell visited Omaha relatives. Greenwood sisters visited Omaha and Hill City relatives before returning home.
Regular service at next Sunday with Sunday school at 10 o clock and preaching at 11 a.m. Epworth League at 7 30 p.m. and preaching at 8 p.m.
Sunday school and preaching are scheduled for the forenoon hours with no preaching in the evening.
Miss Clara Rhode of Beatrice visited her sister Mrs Diehl as Indy plans and dining room girl roles at Colman hotel are noted. John Plager took a Denver pleasure trip on No 15 Tuesday evening. Miss Neff of Beatrice nurses Elmer Greider’s youngest child ill with cholera infantum.
Carl Habicht returned Sunday to Lincoln to resume his position as traveling salesman for the Lincoln Overall Factory. J. W. Fouts returned to Kanena City on No. 18 Wednesday morning for a few more days treatment at the Thornton Minor Institute.
Former heavyweight champion John L. Sullivan and his rival Jake Kilraio plan daily boxing at the age county fair from September 18 to 17. The matches promise public showdowns with local excitement.
Mrs Dr Neely and sister Mise Addie Miller were Burlington passengers on No 15 Tuesday to Fairbury for a chautauqua and will spend the rest of the week visiting their sister Golda in the town.
Harry Patton disposes of his interest in the Shea store to partners August Kunter and Aylie Sollenberger. He will devote time to selling Brush automobiles for which he has secured the agency in the neighboring counties.
Mrs F L Speer and her mother Mrs D L Whitney travel by Rock Island train from Harbine to Topeka Raw to pack and move Whitney's household goods to Diller. Whitney plans to make her home with her daughter.
