Pleasant Precinct Primary Returns and Local News

The Pleasant precinct primary at Diller on the 16th saw 106 ballots cast. Silas R. Barton led Republican auditor race with 52 votes, Ashton Shallenberger led governor on Democratic side with 30. Citizens note school progress, local visits, births, and community events.

Old Settlers Association to Hold Picnic Meeting

Jefferson county Old Settlers Association officers will meet at Endicots Saturday evening to arrange their annual picnic. All old settlers are invited to attend. C Vennum, a special deputy for the MWA, has worked near Diller and reports favorable prospects for a large class adoption soon.

Rural Mail Boxes Eye Toward Uniform Color and Clear Identity

The Post Office Department urged rural delivery patrons to paint their mail boxes white and print name and box numbers in black about two inches high. It also suggested road officials mark crossroad boxes with the town or village name and a directional indicator to show the route.
