Memories Of The Past and Piper Return To Fairbury Summer Vicinity
Forty years ago the town records note Memories Of The Past and Piper returning Monday to stay in the area after wintering in Lincoln. Local projects include rebuilding coal sheds near the depot under railroad plans and securing a large cannon for Fairbury’s city park. Residents helped Boone Hotel with a $4,500 subscription toward a proposed $50,000 hotel in Boone. A village notice required property owners to clean premises, with fines for bicycle riders on sidewalks. A farewell gathering honored Eld King and family moving to Lomax for Christ work.
