Farmer shoots two boys amid peach orchard dispute
Amos Sax, a wealthy farmer of Saffield, wounded Charles and Murray Youtz aged 15 and 18 after mistaking them for thieves. The youths, who had permission to hunt on Sax’s property, were returning from a coon hunt when fired upon at about 50 feet. The older boy suffered more severe injuries with the left thigh and wrist torn. Weavers market goods and local event notices follow in the column.
