Sixteen members of Lie Homemak of the Church of Christ met in the church parlors Thursday after noon. A short reading was given and refreshments were served by Mrs. Stubie, Min, Clyde Voorhis, Mrs. Woodmen and Mrs. Vanwinkla. Dance at the K of C Hall featured Movers, Robert George and Jobo Thveang with Rat tin orchestra providing music for a late evening. Over 20 couples attended. Guests included Mrs. B. J. Warman and daughters from Cleveland, and Mrs. Lee Painter and daughter from Akron who visited Astiland. Virginia Beall of Cumberland underwent an operation Friday at M. S. Sanitarium. Mrs. Parker entertained Gambier Ladies Country Club with a short business session and refreshments. Mr. Parker hosted a dinner for Mr. Muller’s birthday. Guests included many Gambier, Akron, Danville, Fredericktown and Cleveland residents. A miscellaneous bridal shower followed for Mr. and Mrs. Fuller with many local attendees.

Child Severely Injured After Fall on Croquet Stake
Mary Turner, daughter of Mr and Mrs Norman G Turner of Wooster Avenue, was seriously injured Thursday evening when she fell on a croquet stake in the yard. A portion of the stake penetrated her body causing a severe injury. She is under a surgeon care and her condition slightly improved today.
