Saturday Trade Surprises Merchants Amid Rainy Weather
Saturday proved surprising for Vernon merchants as cash registers showed larger than expected totals despite heavy rain. Shoppers filled South Main and drew crowds to the square, with many buying lower priced items and a mix of town and country customers. Merchants credit well stocked inventories and anticipate a strong week ahead.
