Post Office Substitute Arrested Over Irregular Money Orders
Robert Brown a substitute rural mail carrier from Mt Vernon was arrested by Chief P J Parker on Saturday amid investigations by government officials into alleged irregular money order schemes. Residents claimed they paid him to convert funds into money orders but were not issued orders or funds. A Cincinnati post office inspector arrived to probe and then consulted the U S attorney in Columbus with further action to await Tuesday.
