Trade unions plan vast Baltimore co operative society

A bold movement led by the machinists union in Baltimore aims to form a city co operative society owned by union men. It would run stores and mills, operate its own bank, and distribute profits to members, with stock priced at 10 and voting by members only. Initial shops will be grocery stores open to all, later adding clothing and shoes. Indorsed by the Baltimore Federation of Labor, the model follows Rochdale principles.
