Lenhart McManis longtime farmer died at midnight Thursday at his home in Monroe Township after a two month illness of hardening of the arteries and paralysis. He was 72, survived by his wife, children Curtis Jadson Mia D A Veriia, Mrs S G Scoles, Florence, Clyde, Mrs R M Dial, Mrs B Mo Bride, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral Sunday at Pike Church at 10:30 a m with burial in Pike Cemetery. Edith Wolford Dies at 31 in Gallipolis State Hospital Epileptics. Daughter of Mrs Alice Wolford, she had typhoid fever and five years at hospital. Remains will be brought to Mt Vernon Saturday.
Shuff family reunion held Thursday at the home of Mr and Mrs William Shut in Lock with about thirty members attending. A picnic lunch was served at noon and a fine musical program followed in the afternoon. Bathers on Rockaway inlet watch as a sulphur bottom whale about forty five feet long beaches in five feet of water. Chased by two blue sharks, the whale struggles for hours before dying. Fishermen cut skin and blubber as souvenirs while crowds gather.
