11th Regt Band Concert Saturday Night

Religious Training In Dalton Schools This Fall

A new feature in Dalton schools this fall adds one hour weekly of religious education for all high school grades and for Sth 6th and 7th 8th grades. Local ministers teach the courses with no sectarian aim, focusing on Bible stories and their principles. Success depends on student and parent cooperation as the community recognizes the need for moral training across creeds.

Falls and breaks hip of 94 year old resident

Mrs. Susan Cully aged 94 of Wooster formerly of this place fell in her home last Saturday fracturing her hip. Her condition is reported as well as could be expected given her advanced age.

Veterans Association of the W L E Ry convention and banquet

Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Snyder attended the second annual convention and banquet of the Veterans Association of the W L E Ry in Canton on Saturday afternoon and evening. Fifty Medina men signed up for a $10,000 golf course on Walter Kennedy's farm near Cleveland Road. The group plans to recruit fifty more to pledge $100 each.

Tax rate changes for Wayne County in 1927 announced

The Wayne County taxing commission completed work and set the 1927 tax rates. Thirty four rates are lower and twenty five higher than 1926. Dalton will have a rate of 16.60 down from 17.80 last year. Sugar Creek Two is 16.00, a decrease of .40 from last year.

The Dalton Ohio village council authorizes the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs to advertise for bids to furnish an adequate pump and appurtenances for the Municipal Water Works Plant.
