Wayne County School Notes Highlight Fair Prep and Clubs

A Monday after school teachers meeting set plans for the Wayne county fair exhibit September 30 to October 3. A high school girls hiking club elected Helen Stockham as manager and Ethel Douglas as assistant. Class assistants named and point based health rewards proposed. Senior class trip included a weiner roast at Devils Hollow with music from students. Last exams scheduled for September 20 in Wooster. Truant officer visited again. new scholars may arrive soon.

Former Dalton Resident Eva Roebuck Dies at 72

Eva Roebuck 72 widow of J Rudy Roebuck died Tuesday at her daughter Mrs Frank Bixler in Wadsworth after eleven weeks illness. Survived by two daughters four grandsons and two brothers Charles and Wm Rudy of Dalton. Funeral Friday at 1 30 p.m. from the Bixler home. Body to be interred in Wadsworth mausoleum.

Wooster District Abolished in Northeast Ohio Methodists

The Northeast Ohio Methodist conference votes to reduce districts from ten to nine and abolish the Wooster district. Wayne County joins Canton district, headquarters move to Canton, and Wooster district unions dissolve. Parts go to Norwalk and other districts as counties become units.
