Wayne County Fair heads to Wooster September with large livestock show
The 99th Wayne County Fair runs September 14 to 18 in Wooster with rain or shine. Secretary Walter J. Buss reports 20 600 dollars in cash premiums across twelve departments and about 1500 Junior Fair entries. Ten harness races offer 9800 dollars in purses. Major attractions include Raum and Cherokee Rodeo and Wild West Show, WLS National Barn Dance with Lula Belle and Scotty, and free school children grandstand and gate admission on select days.

Joseph Schmidt 63 died Saturday morning at his Green Oak Dalton residence of a heart attack. He lived in Massillon 15 years, moved to Dalton last June. Survived by widow Margaret, two stepsons George Winkler Dalton and Walter Winkler Canton, three sisters Canton, three brothers Canton and Detroit, eight grandchildren.
