The P T A meeting at Dalton High School Auditorium November featured Myron Johnson as president. A eighth grade program opened with a Thanksgiving poem read by John Sprunger, then a duet by Marilyn Marthy and Marlene Moser. Music included violin, flute, piano solos by Maxine Mumaw, a trio “Autumn Lullaby,” and a girls chorus. Mrs Matthey Dr Anderson of Wooster College spoke on Your Childs Mental Hygiene.

Haverstock and Davis, longtime DeSoto Plymouth dealers in Dalton for 30 years, will dissolve December 31 1950 after selling to G G Grimm of Wooster. Grimm takes possession January 1 1951. Wm Haverstock retires while Harold Davis and Wm Blethyn join the new firm’s staff.

Ziegler Family Visits Dalton Amid Weather Warnings
Mr G J Ziegler and son Keith of Wyandotte Michigan visited Dalton relatives last Saturday. Heavy rain and snow with freezing temps produced the season’s first icy streets. Kathryn Seager spoke on sewing methods at a regional Vocational Economics meeting in Massillon. Kenneth Leisy of the Navy, a Wake Island guard, is son of Mrs Alma Leisy and Mrs Hollis Tinsler. Mrs Tinsler and her husband’s daughter arrived from Biloxi Camp where Sgt Tinsler will soon head to Korea via San Francisco.

The couple planned a Niagara Falls trip and will reside in Dalton R D 1.

A Wednesday family night at the Methodist Church of Dalton drew 55 attendees. The Slussers led the program with group singing and solo performances by Barbara Moser and Johnny Mumaw. Fire damages Ohio Bell building roof near Gazette shop
A temporary roof on a pre fabricated Ohio Bell building adjoining the Gazette shop collapsed just before press time. It wrecked a heater and set fire to lumber and insulation. Fire department responded quickly and contained the blaze. Contractor Martin could not estimate damages.

Rural home fire damages Wade Hofstetter residence
Fire at the Wade Hofstetter home on Stanwood Road 114 miles south of East Greenville around 9 30 Sunday night caused a stove heatrola to burn through the floor and ruin the kitchen. The fire was extinguished with the building saved and total damages estimated at 2000 dollars with coverage. The family found the house upon returning home.

Dalton man injured after walking into car
Ernest J Limbach aged 64 of R D 2 Dalton was struck by a car at 2nd street and Cherry avenue NE Canton. He received four stitches for a forehead cut and multiple bruises but no broken bones. He was treated at Mercy hospital and returned home near West Lebanon.
