Mr and Mrs E I Ober hosted a Sunday dinner honoring their grandson David Flanagan turning two. A decorated cake with two small candles was the main feature. Guests included Mrs Lester Aukerman and Mrs L G Flanagan.

Rev. Charles H. Laird of Salem Ohio will conduct an evangelistic meeting at Pleasant Valley U B Church from November 29 to December 17 with nightly services at 7 30. Special music and singing each evening accompany Laird a humorous yet earnest preacher of Bible truths. The Laird party includes musically talented family to perform over the weekend Glenn Spackey pastor. Also noted Arlene Thompson won bronze at Prince of Peace Contest and Mary Smith received special mention for an oration.
Thirty three Eastern Wayne County men will leave Orrville for induction into the armed forces on Nov. 29 to fill the month's quota the largest for months. Those to go from Dalton and vicinity include Bill Sommers Johnny Kratzer Curtis Berg David Wagner Glen Flueckiger Paul Gardner and Richard Kohler.
Corporal Raymond Berg returns home on furlough from Camp Bowie Texas to visit family and recover from duty duties.
Gloria Bach of WAVE is spending a leave at home after a station in Georgia. Pvt. Richard Myers is on a ten day furlough from Ft. McClellan Alabama and visiting his parents, the Chester Myers.
Officers were elected for the ensuing year including President Mrs D E Arnold Vice President Mrs Wm Williams Recording Secretary Mrs Earl Hostetter and Treasurer Mrs Geo Leitner. Members were urged to bring all tax stamps to Mrs Earl Locke or Mrs Henry Kraus after counting so they may be sent in promptly.
The Dalton allotment reached 727.00 dollars with 743.01 dollars collected and pledged, surpassing the goal. Geo. Leitner chairs the campaign with Bill Adams and Don Stahl as co chairmen, thanking all contributors and workers.
Rev. John Nussbaum of Cleveland and the Nussbaum Bros. Quartet of Berne Ind will hold a 8:00 pm service at Salem church on Saturday November 25. Rev. J J Esau of Bluffton Ohio will preach at Salem church during the evenings of November 30 December 1 and the Sunday morning and evening of December 3.
