Traffic Lights Planned for Dalton After Permit Grants

State highway department issued temporary permits for traffic signals in Dalton following a tip of heavy two way flow. A check showed 364 vehicles per hour pass through Dalton, prompting plans for two signals at west Main church corner and band stand corner to protect pedestrians including school children with maintenance and operation funded by a village appropriation.

Sewer Question Spurs Special Election Consideration in Dalton

Public interest in Dalton grows for a special election to decide the sewer issue. Plans are open for inspection with an estimated cost near $50 000 funded by assessments on benefited properties and a 2 percent levy for street and alley intersections. The council weighs the proposal cautiously with no firm stance from any member.

Womanless Wedding Charms Local Audiences At High School

Packed houses welcomed the home talent show The Womanless Wedding with 60 local men in the cast at the high school auditorium. The production, directed by Mrs. Gardner, ran two nights to hearty laughter and pleased crowds. Groom revealed as Wm. C. Rudy. High school orchestra provided music. Floyd Rees accompanied singing. Door receipts surpassed $200 with half of net proceeds to F F A and School Band.

Chicago Stock Show sets record for largest Exposition

B H Heide announces final entries show runs December 2 to 9 at International Amphitheatre Chicago Stock Yards. Cattle breeders provide biggest purebred display in the history with 17 of 30 breeds breaking records. Purebred sheep from western ranges and farm states will total over a thousand animals across eleven key breeds. Miss June Warnock visits Dalton. Miss Marie Leisy visits her mother Erma Leisy.
