Thanksgiving Eve Service Unites Dalton Churches

The Community Thanksgiving Eve Service brings together the First Presbyterian Church Salem Mennonite Church and the Methodist Church of Dalton at 8 p m in the Dalton Methodist Church. Rev John G Koontz Wooster Methodist Church preaches on In Everything Give Thanks. Choirs directed by Mrs Charles Bates and Mrs Glen Berg perform with members of the Presbyterian Choir led by Carl Goudy. Pastors M Merrel Marker Irvin Richert and James B Moore participate. Proceeds support local Daily Vacation Bible Schools.

Christmas Decorating Demonstration At Garden Club

Mrs. Carroll Scott presented a Christmas decorating program at the Garden Club showing greens dried material candles and flowers for home use. She offered wrapping tips and the audience enjoyed a preview of Christmas music to be performed by Wooster College singers at the next meeting at the Presbyterian church with public invited.

Dalton Community Club Meeting Reflects Local Planning

A large Dalton gathering in the Presbyterian rooms heard Rev. L. M. Marker give thanks and Merle Douglas chair the meeting. Minutes were read in secretary’s absence and plans were set for directing traffic to Dalton via a new road. Committees were named for December programing, annual Christmas events, and contacting a Congressman about commodity prices. Wilbert Cox of Buckeye Feed Mill spoke on his firm’s growth.

Dalton P T A Meeting and Village Fire Program

The Dalton P T A will hold its November meeting on Thursday evening, November 20, at 8:00. The first and second grades will entertain, and the Village Fire Department will present a safety program.

Sullivanes Attend Sister-in-Law's Funeral in Canton

Mr and Mrs Clarence Sullivan attended the funeral of Mrs Dale Holwick Sr the sister of Mrs Sullivan in Canton on Friday. Mr and Mrs Wm S Leedale were weekend guests in the F Scott home Leedale is Recreational Director for the city of Painesville Ohio.

Albert Rudy Celebrates 92nd Birthday at Dalton Home

Albert Rudy marked his 92nd birthday Tuesday at his Dalton area home north of town. Nearby, moved homes include William Adams family to Schultz avenue, Robert Phillips family to an apartment on the former Monbarren property, and Oke Riggsby family to Wooster.

The Dalton Volunteer Fire Co hosted Wayne County Firemen including Millersburg and Ashland members for a Monday evening gathering. About 50 attendees enjoyed a bountiful lunch before travel pictures in color by Mr. Bowman of Orrville.

Presbyterian Women Meet for Year End Installations

The Women's Association of the Presbyterian church will meet Tuesday November 25 at 2 PM. The last meeting of the year will include installation of new officers, special music by Mrs Troy Donalas, and a filmstrip. A fellowship tea hosted by Circle 4 follows. good attendance is desired.

Palton Fifth Regiment Band Ends Season With Dinner

The last meeting of the season was a Monday night dinner in the Presbyterian church social rooms served by Circle 3. Forty attendees included band members and wives. A well known speaker from Minerva, Mr Charles Peters, entertained the audience with wit and humor, making it a pleasant evening.

Mrs Clara May Steele widow of Jacob Steele aged 86 died at her Weilersville home after a lingering illness. Born Dalton June 5 1866 to Daniel and Esther Rudy she lived in Weilersville many years. Surviving daughters include Esther Ruth Marie Florence and two grandchildren. Funeral at Arthur Gaberal home Weilersville with burial at Crown Hill Orrville. Also Mrs Jenora Rowe 77 Angola Indiana died Saturday of heart ailment aunt of Estella Warnock. Funeral held Tuesday November 18.

Mrs Anna Ressler Dies at 63 in Orrville

Mrs Anna Ressler 63 died suddenly at her Orrville home from a heart attack. Born June 8 1888 in Dalton she lived there until 1914 marriage to Henry C Ressler and moved to Orrville. Campaign to raise funds for concert band uniforms

The Ways & Means Committee of the Concert Band Mothers seeks community support to raise about $4,000 for new uniforms and transport.
