Governor Franklin Delano Roosevelt of New York is elected president in a Democratic landslide. Ohio re-elects Governor George White over Ingalls by a large margin. County ticket leans Democratic, with Sheriff possibly in doubt. Mougey elected Common Pleas Judge.

Mrs. Mildred Stinson Dies After Illness in Dalton

Mrs Mildred Swisher Stinson wife of Dalton rural mail carrier Harry Stinson died Monday at 10 am at home after a lingering illness. Born June 22 1890 she died November 7 1932 age 42 4 15. Survived by husband son Lee sisters Erma Lessy Florence Hunsinger three brothers preceded in death. Funeral Thursday 2 pm from residence 2 30 pm in M E church Rev G C Elliot officiating. Election day produced Sugar Creek township's largest historical ballot count with 820 votes, up from 775 in 1928, marking an historic turnout for the area.

102nd Birthday for Mrs Anna Snavely

The long lived Mrs Anna Snavely marks her 102nd birthday on November 10. She voted for Hoover in both 1928 and 1932 causing three red letter days this week Election day birthday and Armistice day. Born in Pennsylvania she came to Ohio at age four in a covered wagon. She married Samuel Snavely who died in 1900 and has three children nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She reads daily papers loves baking and attends Mennonite church services brought to her home when unable to attend.

Japanese Student to Speak at Salem Mennonite Church

David Takahara, a young Japanese student at Oberlin Theological Seminary, will speak Sunday at 7:30 pm at Salem Mennonite Church. He will discuss his conversion, his current faith, and conditions in Japan, and is noted as a sought after speaker in major cities and conferences. The public is invited.

Opening of Muskrat Season Set for December 1

Official notice from the Ohio State Conservation Council states the inland muskrat and mink trapping season shifts from November 15 to December 1 and will run to February 15, shortening the period as a conservation measure. The Lake Erie district opens December 15 and trapping for coon possum skunk and fox rules follow later dates.
