Davey Donahey Democrats Sweep Ohio Governor and U S Senate

In Ohio on Tuesday voters backed Davey for governor over Brown and backed Donahey for U S Senate in a Democratic landslide. Fess won the Senate seat, Wayne County chose representatives for the State Legislature, and county offices shifted with Nauman Sheriff Lehman Commissioner Harmon Clerk Yoder Auditor White Recorder Carrie Franks Treasurer Critchfield Prosecutor Adair Coroner reelected. Sugar Creek Township precinct results show 663 total votes with Lees.

Ohio FFA Delegates Shine at National Convention

The seventh National FFA Convention tied to the American Royal in Kansas City Oct 19 29 drew 3000 delegates from 47 states and Hawaii. Ohio delegates led by Bobby Jones and Stanley Tschantz reported honors in dairy livestock judging and Guernsey contests plus top corn.

Mrs Samuel Wenger Dies After Lingering Illness

Mrs. Samuel Wenger 67 of Burton City died Sunday after a lingering illness. Survived by three sons Clyde Wenger Dal ton Harry Wenger Akron Floyd Wenger Findlay. eight grandchildren seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral held Wednesday 1 30 at home and 2 at Martins church with Rev R G Pinkerton and Rev Benjamin Good officiating. Interment in church cemetery.

Thanksgiving program honors hosted by Class No 9

Class No 9 of the MS S met at Alice Schultz home with twenty members answering roll call and naming items for the Thanksgiving dinner. Stella Shade led the devotionals. A school program was arranged by Laura and Maggie Slusser with songs, duets, essays, and stunts. Prize winners included Maud Aker Luella Sturgis and Mabel Johnson. The Pun Kin Center Orchestra provided music with Harriott McFarren as soloist and director.
