Tragic Orrville Crash Claims Three Sprengers On Walnut Crossing
The Red Arrow No. 58 struck the Nash sedan at Walnut street, killing Harvey and Mrs. Springer and their son Merle. Daughter Marjorie survived with minor injuries. Harvey Slow looked both ways before crossing. train was 60 mph and warning bell rang. Funeral services held in Kidron and Mt. Eaton as community mourns.

The service at Murray Funeral Home drew relatives from Akron Canton Wooster and others. Clergy included Rev Pinkerton Rev Keiser and Rev Miller. He leaves a brother Ernest F Scott and several aunts and uncles, plus community ties as a Mason and O U A M member.
