The Dalton High School senior class presents In Spring the Sap a three act farce in the High School Auditorium on Friday and Saturday nights April 1 and 2 1949 at 815 pm Glen Berg coaches the play Principal. I.
Members and patrons of The Dalton Equity Exchange Co. are invited to a meeting at Dalton high school on Tuesday April 5 at 7 45 p m A good program is planned and a light lunch will be served Also notice that Saturday is trash collection day.
The Rev. L. M. Marker was installed as pastor of Dalton Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening. Rev. Dugald Chaffee conducted the service with sermon by Rev. Dr. Chas. F. Wishart. Officers and members were rededicated, followed by prayers. Charges to pastor and congregation were given by Rev. John R. Williams and Rev. J. E. McCall. Presbytery of Wooster authorized the installation. A reception for the pastor, his family, and guests followed with light refreshments.
A letter from Bartley Nebraska notes Eugene Gallatin renews his subscription to the Gazette after fifty years. He moved from Dalton with his parents as a child and will celebrate his 88th birthday on March 27. The paper sends best wishes for health and happiness.
Two grass fires were reported on Monday evening near the Highway Patrol barracks and again Tuesday near Rt 30 east of town. The Ladies Auxiliary to Dalfen Post VFW will install officers Tuesday April 5 at 8:00 with Mrs. Gertrude LusInbuhl installing. Miss Aileen Thompson of this place sings with the Wittenberg College choir on NBC network from New York City Sunday April 3 at 10:45 to 11 a.m. The choir is on its 17th annual tour. Emily Post defines a charming woman and her ideas appear in The American Weekly in Sunday Chicago Herald American.
Dalton Grade School presents The Early Bird Catches the Worm operetta on April 7 and 8 in the high school auditorium. The Grade School band opens the program with the 7th and 8th grade Boys and Girls Glee Clubs performing between acts.
Local items report Mrs. Oliver Homan patient at Massillon city hospital and Kenny Badertscher and Gary Houghton undergoing tonsil and tonsillectomy procedures there. Several visits include Nora Smith in Wooster, Carroll Scott in New York, and relatives in Akron Kidron and Flint Michigan. Community events note a seed exchange and a Presbyterian Bible class gathering with music.
