The Dalton Gazette announces a free citizenship photo feature with Waltz Studios. On June 28 a studio will set up in the town hall from 1 pm to 8 pm for children of all ages. No charge, no subscription, no purchase required. Parents may opt for extra prints by arrangement.
Miss Julia Plance and Miss Judy Saurer left Monday to attend a course in nurse training at Kent State University.
The Raymond Boss Family thanks the Dalton Fire Department for saving their home from fire last Sunday. They praise Chief Martin and every firefighter for prompt response and careful handling, noting the community’s privileges and benefits of living in a splendid Christian community.
The Dalon Rural Board of Education will receive sealed bids for a stoker to be installed on a steam boiler in the Dalton Grade School. Bids must include controls to guarantee satisfaction. The board may reject any or all bids. Bids due by 8 pm July 2, 1946.

Severe storm Sunday night saw lightning hit the Raymond Ross residence near town, igniting siding where service wires entered. Dalton and Orrville fire crews responded, bringing the blaze under control with little damage reported.
Miss Marjorie Pritchard wed Raymond Rees Berg at St Pauls Lutheran Massillon with Rev Baumgartner officiating. The bride wore white satin with lace, coronet of orange blossoms, and pearls. maid of honor was her sister Mary Alice Pritchard. Best man Edgar Ulmer. ushers James Mourat and William Pritchard. After a reception at the bride’s home, the couple planned a wedding trip to Ontario and will reside at the bride’s home.
Miss Kathleen Fisher and Robert Berg were married in a candlelit ceremony at Saint Michaels Lutheran Church in Marshallville. The Rev Mr Nichols officiated with a large attendance, music by Vivian Parsons and John Henning. The couple, both Dalton High School graduates, will reside after Berg’s Navy assignment in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Department of Agriculture thermometer on the Dalton school grounds logged daily highs and lows for a six day period from Wednesday to Tuesday. Rain totals included 2.10 inches Wed and Thurs, 1.12 inches Sun and Mon, and 0.42 inches Tue to 8 am, totaling 3.65 inches for the week.
