Farm Dwellers Seek Informative Books for Rural Reading
Rural residents write to the American Library Association seeking practical books on farming and drainage and advanced topics. Letters from Lydia Carlson and others show a demand for titles on crop crops, poultry, drainage, and even bookable guides to making fuel alcohol. The ALA plans a 2 million dollar Books for Everybody program over three years, funded by librarians and library groups rather than a big drive.
