Memorial Day Observance in Dalton Draws Many Visitors

Memorial Day in Dalton featured a sunlit parade led by Dr. De Arment on Chico the horse. Veterans groups from VFW and 11th Regiment and Navy veterans marched past bright flower bouquets, flags, and color guards. A cemetery flagpole was dedicated, with speeches by Franklin L. Maier and Vivian Douglas, and a firing squad plus taps closed the ceremony. Out‑of‑town guests from Norwalk, Columbus, Ashland, and more attended the event, joining locals in a tribute to fallen heroes from the Revolution to World War II.
