West Brookfield Unveils 60-Foot Flagstaff At School

Jr Order United American Mechanics of Massillon erected a 60 foot steel flag staff on the West Brookfield school campus and presented a flag. A large public turnout, parade, and band performances followed with prayers and speeches led by Attorney W S Spidell and A W Agler. The event closed with America sung by pupils and spectators.

Sugarcreek Township Picnic Challenges Local Ball Team

Sugarcreek Township hosts its fifth annual picnic on Friday June 19 at Bowers Grove, 274 miles southwest of Dalton. The Salem Sunday school class for boys aged 15 to 18 issues a challenge to any ball team of similar age for a forenoon game during the event. Interested teams notify M. H. Major Ohio Gas Well Hits 14 Million Feet in Wooster Field

The Wooster Daily News reports a massive gas strike in Saturday afternoon in the Wooster field. The Wilson well, about 1000 feet south of Munson, is among the largest, coming in after another roarer. Interested parties include B. K. Maitland, Nick Amster, Will Curry, and Ed Wertz. Reports say they have been offered $130,000 cash for the well.

Reception for Pastor Hubbell at Second U P Church

Members of the Second U P church in Cleveland held a surprise reception for Rev W H Hubbell and his family at the church last Wednesday evening after the prayer meeting. A program followed and a purse of fifty dollars was presented to the pastor by the Sabbath School superintendent. A memorial sermon for nine military organizations was preached by Rev Hubbell the following Sunday.
