A contributor to the August Designer describes teaching children money skills early. For two years a family has given their eight year old weekly spending money to buy incidentals and save, earning six dollars saved and earning interest. They start a five year old and an orphan girl of fourteen on similar programs, paying for schooling and board while providing fifty cents weekly for personal expenses.
Metnopdist Episcopal Rev J T Hoak holds services in school hall with Sabbath school. Salem Mennonite Carroll Rev A A Sommer preaches at 11 am, 7 pm, Sabbath school 9 am, Christian Endeavor 7 pm. United Presbyterian Rev W H Hubbell preaches 11 am and invites all. Presbyterian Rev J W Findlay preaches 11 am and 7:30 pm with Sabbath school and prayer meeting. Communion Sunday.
