Patriotic Program At Dalton High For Constitution Study
A Thursday morning assembly in the Dalton High School auditorium featured an inaugural day theme focused on the Constitution. The program included a film Our Constitutional Government two radio scripts The Constitution and Elections and performances by the high school orchestra under Victor Gerber plus readings by Mildred Nolt and Marjorie Steiner with Nancy Warnock on piano. The event stressed democratic government and the need for citizens to understand how the government operates, led by Supt. Geo H Eastman and his American Government class delivering the radio scripts over the public address system.

Annual Meeting Highlights Peoples Federal Savings Wooster
The Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Association Wooster Ohio held its annual meeting January 19 1949 electing Roland Berke John P Grassbaugh and C B Hosack as directors for three years. President Shibley announced 1581 new savings accounts in 1948 total assets of 13 million dollars a new high with cash and bonds reserves the most in 57 years and more than 10 000 customers. The 2 1 2 percent savings rate is the highest in Wayne County and all accounts are insured to 5000 by a U S government agency. Officers for 1949 were re elected Fred K Shibley president Charles I Correll vice president A E Taylor vice president and treasurer and C B Hosack executive vice president and secretary.
