Mrs Shepard Visits Dalton for Reform Address

Mrs. L. Shepard, Utah W C T U state president and noted reformer, spoke in Dalton at the U P Church on A Clean Life and in the Presbyterian Church at a large women's meeting. Her address covered gambling, Sabbath desecration, impurity, and intemperance, praised for its forceful yet nonbitter tone.

New Year's Reunion at Schultz Avenue Home

Mr and Mrs J M Anderson hosted the annual New Year gathering at their Schultz avenue residence Monday with twenty four guests. Music and games entertained as refreshments were served, listing attendees from West Brookfield Massillon and Canton areas.

U P Congregational Dinner Report Highlights Unity

The United Presbyterians held its annual congregational dinner at Goudy Hall last Saturday with over 160 members and friends present. After the meal, short addresses were given by Mrs. Luin Shepard Reverend J G Madge and Reverend W H Hubbell. Music featured a graphophone and 175 sacks of candy were distributed. The congregation begins the new year in prosperous condition with no deaths among members over the past year.

Vital statistics show Sugarcreek township and Dalton recorded more than two births for every death last year. Totals include 60 births and 25 deaths across the two areas, with 22 male births and 38 female births. No deaths in two months of the year.

New Year's Shoot At America Gun Club Draws 32 Shooters

The annual New Year's shoot by the America Gun Club held Monday afternoon faced a windy day but completed all sixteen events. Thirty two participants competed with sixteen hundred large shots recorded. prize winners included I. Joseph W Bott Dead at 73 in Dalton

Joseph W Bott aged 73 years 6 months 5 days died at his North Mill Street residence after two weeks illness. He moved to Dalton from Applecreek eight years ago and was survived by wife Mises Saran A Reider of Maysville and eleven children, including O W Elmer Warren Irene Mrs Shuler and Mrs Freace, plus twelve grandchildren. Funeral held at Applecreek M E church with interment in Applecreek cemetery. Out of town relatives visited from Krederickeburg Detroit Massillon Spencer Kodi.

Green Oak school to stage Josiah's Courtship play

Amos Moser Regains Clear Title to Dalton Farm

In common pleas court Judge Weygandt cancelled the fraudulent deed conveying Amos Moser’s farm near Dalton to William Hoover. Hoover was not present in court while Moser, represented by Howard Roga, secured a ruling restoring title after months of dispute over the alleged swindle.

Band Concert A Good Show Despite Bad Weather

The Hth Regiment band with Orrville’s O C B Maleuertet performed on schedule despite rain turning to snow. A full hall enjoyed the overtures and solos, plus a vaudeville act by the O C B Male Quartet. Proceeds totaled $41.20 for the band.

Obituary of Seth Blackman Passes at 90 in Ohio Parish

Seth Blackman born July 2, 1820 died around January 1, 1916 at age 90. He married Mary Hess on November 29, 1849. Survived by two sons Henry and John, four daughters Mrs John Iser, Mrs Fletcher, Mrs Mary Martin, and Anna Martin, plus 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a sister. Funeral services at County Line Church were led by Bishop Henry Hursh and Rev. Benjamin Good.
