The Presbyterian Methodist and Salem Mennonite churches host World Day of Prayer at Dalton Presbyterian Church Friday at 8 pm February 29. Mrs S C Springer of Kidron presides with special music by Mrs Paul Schultz and Mrs Victor Gerber and trombone solo by Mr Carl Goudy. A committee led by Mrs Morris Hershey organizes the event with members including Mrs Harley Nussbaum, Mrs James Moore, Mrs Dan Buchwalter, Mrs Paul Badertscher and Mrs Victor Gerber. The church bell will ring hourly to mark the prayer day and invite all to attend.
County Auditor Lautenschlager will be at the Town Hall Dalton on March 10 and March 17 from 9 a.m. to noon to assist residents with their personal tax listings.

The Friendly Neighbors Homemakers Club met all day at Mrs. Mandane Rudy’s home with 44 members four guests and many children present. Mrs Mae Davis led devotions and Mrs Pauline Smith chaired business as Mrs Kathryn Blethyn organized activities. Prizes were won in bingo and valentines and recipes were exchanged. The club planned an April anniversary luncheon at Smithville Inn.
The February Family Night at the Methodist church drew 65 members for a pot luck supper. Rey James Moore led the program with group singing, Merle Horst performed cornet solos, Ernest Dodéex played violin and sang, and children enjoyed reels such as Baby Tigers in a New York Zoo and Highway To Hawaii along with DP entering America.
The Kidron community announces the Kidron Community Volunteer Fire Department Inc is ready to accept calls under President Russell Beals. Edwin Lehman is Fire Chief with three assistants Earl D Bixler Kenneth Gerber and George Bixler. The P T A observed Founders Day with a family dinner in the high school auditorium attended by about 200. Lee Douglas announced a program by the third and fourth grades featuring patriotic costumes and small flags in songs, marches and speeches honoring George Washington and the flag. Mrs Emmett of Tallmadge, State Representative to the P T A, spoke on You and Your P T A. After adjournment the hot lunch room was shown as it nears readiness.
David E. Sauder of Muskegon Michigan celebrated his 90th birthday on February 22. His son Rev. Glenn Sauder notes he is in seemingly good condition for his age. Eugene Gallatin of Bartley Nebraska will turn 91 on March 27 and a daughter’s letter requests a Gazette address change stating he is failing but still up and around.
1952 windshield stickers to replace metal plates will be sold starting Saturday March 1. Clair K. Eckard of Eckard Bros. gas station on Cochran Street is reappointed deputy registrar. Car owners must show title certificate and 1951 registration card to obtain the 1952 stickers.
The school annual may be secured by placing an order with business manager Harold Hauenstein or his assistants Norman Moser and Bob Ickes.
Born February 21 to Mr and Mrs Orin Benson of East Main Street a son named Mark Ordell Massillon City Hospital announces the birth with grandmother Mrs Anna Hostetter listed as kin.
Chas. Clark and wife visited the Kruschen family Sunday while Mrs. Kruschenske attended a luncheon hosted by Mrs. Clayton Fin ley of Massillon. Mrs. Lee Amstutz and her infant Heidi returned home to Hartville after days with Mrs. Laura Amstutz. Donald Lautzenheiser, son of the John Lautzenheisers, RD 1, studies electrical engineering at Fenn College in Cleveland. Clyde Hazel was hired as street superintendent by the village council. Mr. C. R. McDowell returned from Dunlap hospital in fair condition. Mrs. Marie DeArment, Mrs. Estella Warnock, and Mrs. June Chapman recently took a motor trip to Arizona and New Mexico, with Mrs. Harriet McFarren visiting son Clare in Columbus.
Miney Santmyer and Bill Wertz assume charge of the Buchwalter's service department in Dalton. The wholesale branch remains with Buchwalter's, and an opening announcement is expected.
