The Dalton High School week featured tournament games, a pep rally, and a 66 to 49 win over Black River. Students hosted and visited other schools during student exchange day while sophomores settled on olive green and white sweaters and a 12 6 reserve team record was celebrated.
The former pastor Rev L Merrell Marker will conduct the 10 40 worship service Sunday morning and retire as executive of Presby tery. He and Mrs Marker will return to their Bristol Village Ohio home. The Dalton Equestrian Horse 4 H club meets March 4 at 8 pm in the Dalton Press Church basement. new members welcome.
The Buckeye Mill in Sugar Creek burned January 31 a Friday night. It was once The Dalton Roller Mill also known as The White Mill to distinguish it from The Red Mill on N Mill St. The Red Mill burned October 16 1911. The White Mill built about 1886 by S J Goudy Jos Goudy and Bill Locke later became part of Dalton Milling Co and was remodeled to serve expanding trade. The Red Mill fire remains undetermined. Carl Buchwalter chaired programs and David Rohrer spoke about the Ohio Employment Service and job training beginning in 1890 with offices now in most Ohio counties.
The Dalton FHA chapter details its use of the National Program of Work for 1965 1969 with nine national projects under two objectives. It highlights Individuality Counts with the Big Little Sister Program and Good Health as a valued asset, noting a July campout at Hidden Valley as part of its activities.
In a tournament opening, the Bull dogs defeated Buckeye 72 41 after a strong second half. West led with 22 points, Renner 19, Berg 17, Woodruff 18 rebounds, and Miller 8. Earlier they beat Black River 66 49 as West and Renner paced a 22 19 scoring edge for the Bulldogs. The squad also beat Hillsdale in overtime and eye Canton with continued hot play.
