The World Day of Prayer was observed in the Dalton Methodist church with a union service of local churches. Mrs L E Monbarren led the program and special musical numbers were performed by Mrs Victor Gerber and others. A guest speaker from Massillon, Alton Thomas, spoke on Race Prejudice.

Mrs Mary Minnetta Slusser 87 formerly of Dalton died last Saturday at her daughter Mrs R E Andersons home 90 Castle Blvd Akron after a Friday stroke She survived by her daughter a niece Mrs A W Mooney Akron and two nephews Ernest and Carroll Scott of this place She was a lifelong Methodist Funeral services were held Tuesday at Materna Funeral Home Akron with Rev J B Rosemargy officiating Burial was in Dalton Cemetery

Garver's Dixielanders will play at Dalton High Gym on March 1 for a guild dance, and a March 15 benefit dance will raise funds for the high school band to buy uniforms. Proceeds from both events go to the band.
