Trustees H S Stoner Chas Wecht and C F Buchwalter announce the 5 percent dividend on all pre reorganization deposits as of February 29 1936 with total payments at 95 percent. Holders of Certificates of Participation should present for payment after the date.
East Greenville and Massillon residents shared Wednesday with the Hersheys. A group hosted Dr. and Mrs. Keirn with gifts and refreshments. Dalton connections include M M degree work in West Richfield and a betrothal notice for Gladys Lara Stuck to William Burris Powell of East Liverpool. Mrs. Powell is a Dalton High School graduate and Akron hospital trained nurse.
Chapel program featured talks by Betty Teeple and Esther Wenger with poems and readings. Jung Frauen Home Economics club moved initiation to March 11 at 7:30 PM in the high school auditorium. Dalton High advances in Class B tourney defeating Burbank 23 to 16. Goudy top scorer with 7. Second round pairings set for February 27 with Fredericksburg against Dalton and Congress against Sterling.
Early in March the 1936 automobile licenses become available but may not be used until March 10. Licenses must be procured before April 1 to operate a car with no extension of time. Roy Saurer of Bondil is reappointed deputy registrar for Bondil and vicinity. C. R. Goudy is reappointed registrar for Dalton Sugar Creek Twp and vicinity.
Tax records for Dalton and Sugar Creek will be available at Dalton First National Bank starting Saturday February 29. The notice urges taxpayers to pay taxes promptly and comply with the filing dates.
About twenty sportsmen from Dalton and nearby met at Carl Lawrence's paint shop on Tuesday evening to form a Rod and Gun Club. Officers chosen include Carl Lawrence as president H Scott as vice president W T Martin as secretary treasurer. Committees cover Skeet Rifle Coasting and Entertainment with named members. A 25 cent membership fee was set and snacks were served.
The Pokeberry school house caught fire Thursday and repairs were completed for school to resume on Monday. Local residents shared Sunday visits with neighbors. deaths were reported, and patients moved from local hospitals as the community notes engagements and recoveries.
Mr and Mrs Ellis Sprunger hosted a farewell gathering at their home last Friday as the Sprungers and family plan to move near East Union this week. Guests included Raymond and his wife, Jay Kohler and daughter Maxine, Glenn Douglas, L E Gerber, Andy Walkerow and Marvin Nussbaum, with refreshments served and everyone enjoying the evening.
Mrs. John Tyrrell of this place learns of the death of her father Wm. Jeandrevin at his Massillon home Monday evening. Survived by widow, two sons, four daughters. Funeral Thursday at 1 30 at the residence and 2 30 at St. Pauls Reformed Church Mt Eaton Rev S J T Flohr to officiate.
Spring special offered at Slusser's Beauty Shoppe with a $3 permanent wave reduced to $1.95 and free hot oil with every four and five dollar perm. Local social updates note visitors from Detroit Akron and Dalton area including Ruth McFarren Reider family Nellie Hunsicker and Sarah Barkman among others. Warm spell ends icy roads clear but creeks high with rain forecast Tuesday night.

Pleasant birthday gathering held at the Kraus home on February 22 honoring Clarence Kraus. Guests included Mr and Mrs Geo S Lhman Mr and Mrs Wm Richmond Mr and Mrs Lloyd Lehman and Virginia their daughter Orrville Laurers Bud Lieberman Geo Busse Earl Kuligowske Massillon and Willis Sommer Kidron. Refreshments featured chow mein hot cross rolls dill pickles a birthday cake pie and coffee served at 1130 PM. Guests sang Happy Birthday and wished Clarence many happy returns.
The Sunshine class of the UP held a Sunday school party at Mr. and Mrs. Lee Douglas's home with a Washington birthday theme. Eighteen members attended a dish lunch after games and music. The Women's Missionary Society elected officers at its annual all day Presbyterian church meeting with quilting, a noon dinner, and an afternoon program led by Mrs. Ida Haney. Officers included President Mrs. Haney and treasurer Mrs. Goudy. Ladies Aid also nominated officers.
