Dalton Volunteer Firefighters Respond to Five Weekend Calls
The Dalton Volunteer Fire Department handled five incidents last weekend including two grass fires on 27th street in Massillon near Rt 30 and north of Rt 30, one at the VFW post on No Church Street with Mr. and Mrs. Stockham, a furnace puff causing smoke but no damage, and two more grass fires on Bowman Road in the east area.

Karl Michener Dies at 71 in Wooster Convalescent Home
Karl Michener 71 died February 17 after a three month illness at a Wooster convalescent home. Born in Burton City he lived his life in the area. Survived by wife Vera May, two daughters Vera Nickle and Faye Klingmeyer, two sons James and Carl, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were at Auble Hooley Orrville Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Floyd Logee officiating. Burial in Dalton cemetery.
