Hurd Alleman a 70 year old Spanish American war veteran faced trial on a second degree murder charge for the Jan 8 shooting of his 65 year old neighbor Edward Uhl near Shreve. Alleman claimed self defense amid a quarrel over wages owed to Mrs Eva Sankey.
The Senate approved the universal anglers license bill following the House, sending it to Gov. Martin L. Davey for signature. Any person over 18 must buy an annual 50 cent license to fish in Ohio, with exemptions for inmates of public homes and landowners who own streams or lakes. Revenue will fund fish propagation, stocking public waters, and other related efforts.
Mrs Addie Brown managing deputy of the WBA will be in Dalton Friday February 26 with district nurse Mrs Ruby Verran. The gathering at Mrs Kile Lintern’s home runs from 1 30 to 4 00 p m with tips on first aid in the home and related safety guidance for friends attending.
J C Wade a noted colored dancer and humorist will entertain Dalton Community Club members and guests at their banquet next Thursday night March 4. Wade formerly starred with Ted Lewis Band Olsen Johnson Radio and Movie Team George White Scandals and vaudeville. Billy Parsons will dance several numbers with him.
Seven Young Farmers Associations in Wayne county will hold their annual banquet March 5 at the Dalton Presbyterian church. E. L. Bowsher state director of education will deliver the principal address.

A trip to Chicago joined Leonard Tracy Vera Scherer and Mary Welty to attend Wilbert Welty and Lola Eding's wedding at Green Street Congregational Church. High winds caused statewide damage with Calumet reporting 14 inches of snow.
Trustees of Sugar Creek Township Wayne County Ohio invite sealed proposals for one iron dump truck with an estimated cost of 100000. Bid deadline March 13 1936 1 00 PM at the Clerk Dalton Ohio bid must include two percent certified check and Ford truck as part payment. The board may reject any or all bids. William H. Masters of East Greenville dies at home Sunday night at age 82. He leaves his widow Joanna Masters, five daughters and five sons, 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral held Wednesday at 2 30 p m at East Greenville M E Church with Rev H F Patterson officiating. Burial followed in East Greenville Cemetery.
