Cracksmen Rob West Salem Bank in Vault Blast
Thieves blew the West Salem Bank vault with nitroglycerine around two o clock Saturday morning stealing about 700 from the bank and 1600 in stamps and money from the post office. Postmaster Jones and Samuel Wood reported the loss and authorities pursued leads without result. The bank, long a leading institution in Wayne county, remains stable despite the blow to Mr Woods who owns the bank.
