Mrs Russell Wenger Released On Bond In Burglaries Case
Russell Wenger 24 and his wife Alice 22 of Dalton area and Warren Eschleman 21 of Massillon were bound over to the April grand jury on burglary charges. Bonds set at 1000 each, Wenger and Eschleman jailed after failing to post. Mrs Wenger released on 1000 bond. Readily recovered items include a bath tub building material electrical equipment and other goods from the Wenger house. Authorities also accuse theft of 80 bushels of wheat not recovered.

The Dalton F F A Boys organized a pest hunt starting last night and ending in March. Four captains were chosen. Neckwringers led by Richard Hochstettler and Robert Miller, and Two-Gun Terriers led by Ralph Graber and Marion Tschantz. Scoring: sparrows five, mice ten, starlings twenty five, rats fifty, moles seventy five, crows five hundred, hawks one thousand. The losing side must provide a feed for the winners. Teams list includes Two-Gun Terriers with Kratzer Tipton Gerber Maurer etc and Neckwringers with Sommer Frantz Horst Ickes Hofacre Nussbaum Amstutz Gerber Shanklin Lautzenheiser and Rudy.

Obituary for Monroe W. Derfer at Dalton farm
Monroe W. Derfer, 47, longtime resident near Dalton on the Mrs Annie Rudy farm one mile east, died last Thursday after a long illness. He leaves a widow and nine children. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Murray-Stockham funeral home with Rev. M. E. Yoder of Orrville officiating. Burial followed in Orrville cemetery.
